Raymond Barry, age 88 of Powell, passed away August 8, 2009 at Dublin Methodist Hospital with his family by his side. U.S. Army 1942-1946. Retired Chemical Engineer from Ashland Chemical Company. Preceded in death by his brother, Robert Barry; sister, Sr. Virginia Barry S.C.; sister, Mary Jane Hengehold; daughter, Elaine Butscha and great granddaughter, Lauren Schmidt. Survived by his loving wife of 67 years, Kay Barry; son, Dr. Richard (Betsy) Barry; daughters, Kathy (Bill) Schmidt, Jeannine (Doug) Schrock, Lynne (Randy) Ward; 16 grandchildren, 22 great grandchildren and 1 great great grandchild. Ray was a 1948 graduate of the University of Cincinnati, member of St. Joan of Arc Catholic Church, AmVets of Thornville and the Retirees of Ashland Chemical Company. He enjoyed the outdoors, fishing and spending time with his family. Mass of Christian Burial will be 11 AM Friday, August 14, 2009 at St. Joan of Arc, 10700 Liberty Road, Powell, Ohio 43065. Family will receive friends from 9:30 until service time. Burial will be Saturday at St. Joseph Cemetery in Cincinnati.
