Talma Aubrey Scott III, 65, of Worthington died suddenly on Tuesday, March 2, 2010 at the Cleveland Clinic due to complications following lung transplantation. Aubrey graduated from the Jamesville-Dewitt Central School in Dewitt, NY and was a graduate of Syracuse University with a BA in Philosophy. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army where he trained as a helicopter pilot and Air Traffic Controller. After 20 years with the Anheuser-Busch Brewery, Columbus, Ohio, he retired in 1999. Aubrey was an avid golfer and a member of Blackhawk Golf Club. He was a "Candidate Master" chess player and a member of the United States Chess Federation and the (ICC) Internet Chess Club. Aubrey was a long time student of Eastern Philosophies which guided his thinking and his life. He was also a thoughtful and financial supporter of many progressive and humanitarian causes. He was preceded in death by his parents Mary Anne (Evans) Buta and Talma Aubrey Scott Jr. Aubrey is survived by loving partner of 16 years, Chrys Ann Matterson; sisters Diana Miller Yee and Debra Buta Payne; niece Kristen Ward; aunt Marjean (Evans) Stevenson; and many "Evans" and "Scott" cousins. A celebration of life gathering is planned for late March or early April to be announced here.
